Mahabharata : The Cost of Guarantee
Hi All,
It's been a while since my last post. But hey, I have finally made time to restart, in fact, kickstart posting content on this Blogspot. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride all...
Ending with the background check of Vidura, which was quite the irony, by the way, we all know what's coming forth. Years passed with the Great Throne patiently awaiting the nomination of its successor. The One Chosen from the next generation. However, the penance and patience of the Throne were nowhere near to be rewarded. For the fair choice and system of selection of Hastinapura was itself shackled by its predecessors...
The three born and raised as a trio were now to be thrown to a far treacherous test of a path by something Indians rever as Destiny! And surprisingly enough, this was a test of the heart. And surprisingly it was a supposed "fail-proof" plan by the great Queen of then, the fisherwoman, Satyavati.
Bound as it was, it failed!
She was obsessed over the fact that Dhritarashtra was the right heir, the one born to ascend the throne. However, she knew there would be contradictory arguments regarding the more capable, rather physically-enabled princes.
And soon her fishing instincts caught up. If you want a fish, you get one move, one shot, and more importantly, one time. She planned on using the loyalty of brothers in favor of Dhritarashtra. She asked Pandu and Vidura if they were fine with their rightful positions of Governor-General and Lead Counsel with regards to their age and date of birth. But she failed to realize the paradox of the situation wherein Vidura as just a Prince and Brother of Dhritarashtra would never go against him. But now, as the Lead Counsel of the Kingdom, he was bound by his Oath to point out the fact that the physically disabled, blind, Dhritarashtra was not worthy as a King. After all, being Yama reincarnated, he would always value justness over feeling, righteousness over emotions.
As silence reigned over the Great Hall, a feeling of anticipation had now even filled up the cracks and holes on the massive pillars. For the first time in human history, it was as if Walls had developed ears. Having no other option, the Throne had to accept the weakling of a King, Pandu, the only half-blood heir to the throne.
Vidura, who had himself accepted it, would never stand close to Throne because after all he was the Son of a Maid, and born out of pure deceit. The reasoning for this was pretty simple as this was a time where intellect and wisdom were not worth even a penny in front of hierarchy. And it was such that one might say my assertion in itself is an injustice to pennies throughout the world.
The raging Dhritarashtra stormed out of the Hall, one which had been his dream now turned into his reminder of cruelty against his disability. But deep in his heart, he knew about it. His lack of vision had always been an unsaid hangover in his youth, and his "foolish" heart had somewhere began to believe that maybe, just maybe, he had a chance on ascending the throne. And this had indirectly but potentially affected his progeny who was born out of hatred towards the fact that he had been denied his rights. And in case I forget to mention it, Dhritarashtra's rights according to "HIERARCHY"
